On 1st December 2019, Pahal Foundation successfully organized a Sensitisation Workshop for Parents of the Deaf in Satara with the objective of creating awareness, emotional support, and guidance for parents of children with hearing impairment.
The workshop focused on helping parents better understand the challenges, communication needs, and developmental support required for deaf children. The event aimed to encourage positive parenting, inclusive education, and confidence-building among families.
Supporting Parents Through Awareness
Parents often face emotional and practical difficulties while supporting children with hearing disabilities. Through this workshop, experts and volunteers shared valuable insights on:
- Understanding hearing impairment
- Importance of early intervention
- Communication techniques and sign language awareness
- Emotional and social support for children
- Educational opportunities and inclusive learning
- Building confidence and independence in children
The sessions helped parents gain better clarity and motivation to actively participate in their child’s development journey.
Interactive Sessions and Community Engagement
The workshop included interactive discussions, counseling sessions, and experience sharing among parents and professionals. Participants openly discussed their concerns, challenges, and success stories, creating a supportive and encouraging environment.
The event also emphasized the importance of community acceptance and equal opportunities for children with hearing disabilities.
Commitment Towards Inclusion
At Pahal Foundation, we strongly believe that awareness and education are key to building an inclusive society. Workshops like these help families feel supported and empowered while promoting dignity and equal opportunities for every child.
