Sensitisation Workshop for Parents of the Deaf – Jalgaon

On 22nd February 2020, Pahal Foundation organized a successful Sensitisation Workshop for Parents of the Deaf in Jalgaon. The workshop was conducted with the purpose of supporting parents, spreading awareness about hearing impairment, and promoting inclusive development for deaf children.

The event brought together parents, educators, volunteers, and social workers who actively participated in discussions and awareness sessions focused on the overall well-being and growth of children with hearing disabilities.

Empowering Parents Through Knowledge

The workshop aimed to help parents better understand the emotional, educational, and social needs of deaf children. Various sessions were conducted to provide guidance on:

  • Understanding hearing impairment and child development
  • Importance of early diagnosis and intervention
  • Communication methods and sign language awareness
  • Emotional support and confidence building
  • Inclusive education and equal opportunities
  • Role of parents in child development

The sessions encouraged parents to become active participants in their child’s learning and personal growth journey.

Interactive Discussions and Guidance

The workshop included interactive activities, counseling sessions, and experience-sharing discussions where parents openly shared their challenges and experiences. Experts and volunteers provided practical guidance and motivation to help families support their children more effectively.

The event also highlighted the importance of creating a socially inclusive environment where every child receives equal respect, education, and opportunities.

Continuing the Mission of Inclusion

At Pahal Foundation, we remain dedicated to creating awareness and building supportive communities for specially-abled children and their families. Workshops like these are an important step toward empowering parents and strengthening inclusive education and social acceptance.
