Indore came alive on 5th October 2025 as the National Consultation on Protecting Deaf Culture, History, ISL Rights & Promoting Deaf-hood brought together passionate voices from across India. Hosted at Ravindra Natya Grah, the event was filled with energy, inspiration, and the vibrant spirit of the Deaf community.
Organised by Pahal Foundation in collaboration with Malwa Nimad Badhir Sangh, Indore, this landmark consultation became a powerful platform to:
- Discuss the importance of preserving Deaf culture
- Advocate for recognition of Indian Sign Language (ISL) as a national language
- Promote Deaf-hood — celebrating Deaf identity and community pride
Throughout the day, participants shared experiences, ideas, and visions for a more inclusive future. Experts, activists, educators, and young Deaf leaders engaged in thought-provoking discussions on:

- Representation
Cultural performances in ISL celebrated the beauty and richness of Deaf expression, leaving the audience inspired and deeply moved.
